General Guidelines:
The purpose of this board is to provide a cordial space for learning, sharing and discussing information related to all things volleyball in the state of North Carolina. Your opinion is welcomed - but so is everyone else's. Please keep in mind that differences of opinion are what will keep this board interesting and will give it depth and purpose. If each of us will maintain the understanding that everyone has the right to post his/her own opinion - even if it differs from ours - the discussions within each forum will flourish and the board will be successful.
Posting Guidelines:
*Stay on topic - posting only in forums that best fit your topic will elicit the best responses to your post.
*Focus remarks and responses on the content of the message only - comments should never be made about the poster of the message.
*Be civil and courteous as people of all ages, ethnicities, genders and religions will contribute to this board, and each person is entitled to share his/her opinion.
*Only create posts which will further the discussion, provide additional information and/or create another point of view; avoid posting isolated statements that do not further the conversation, such as "I agree," "I disagree" or "Go team!"
Helpful Posting Tips:
*Avoid upper-case text - it is more difficult to read and interprets as shouting; instead, use the "bold" feature to project emphasis.
*Utilize the "quote" feature when responding to a specific post/topic, but only quote the pertinent part(s) to avoid confusing the other readers.
*Read all announcements that will be posted occasionally at the top of different forums - they will save you and other members time when posting and/or searching.
*Use the "search" function to find your topic or answers to your questions (especially as the board grows in size).
Account Name, Signature and Avatar Guidelines:
*Inappropriate account names will not be tolerated.
*Do not attempt to impersonate forum administrators, other members or real volleyball players, coaches or celebrities with account names.

--keep signatures to a minimum length (no blank lines)
--keep avatars to 100x100 pixels and under a 50K file size
*Signatures and avatars that are too large or contain inappropriate content or links will be deleted or disabled.
Do Not...
--post solicitation - advertising and petitioning of any kind will not be allowed
--post spam - any of the following is considered spamming: posting to boost your post count, posting the same post in multiple forums, posting non-sense
--post malicious, defamatory, illegal, abusive , or harassing material
--violate another person's right to privacy by publishing any information that could be deemed personal or private - including but not limited to a member's or non-member's name, address, telephone number, account numbers, etc.
--exhibit behavior toward another poster that could be construed as stalking
--post using any language that could be interpreted as discriminatory on the the basis of sex, religion, ethnicity, color, etc.
--post sexually or otherwise obscene material or use such language
Consequences for Ignoring Guidelines:
--initial minor offenses may result in administrative editing of offensive posts and warning messages being sent to offender
--additional offenses/major offenses will result in administrative blocking/deleting of posts
--continued offenses/multiple warnings can result in a temporary ban (posting privileges disabled indefinitely)
--persistent/deliberate rule breakers will have account(s) deleted, will no longer be welcome, plus their account(s) will not work and attempts at re-registration will be deleted immediately
Reporting Objectionable Material:
*Due to the real-time nature of this forum, the moderator is unable to read/edit all messages and posts as they occur.
*The integrity of this board relies heavily on members monitoring themselves and one another.
*Please report posts (by immediately sending a personal message to the moderator via IM on the forum page) that do not follow the guidelines set out above or that you feel to be objectionable.
*Remember that only content is objectionable - even if you do not like a poster or what he/she has to say - you still should only report offensive content.
*The administrator/moderator will try to maintain a balance in censorship due to the wide-ranging nature of this board and its potential members. However, the administrator/moderator always has the final say regarding objectionable material - whether you agree or not.
*Keep in mind that the moderator does have a real-life job and family and may not be able to respond or take action immediately.
*Know that the moderator cannot ban actual people - the moderator can ban IP addresses and groups of addresses.
